RIGHT So I've been working with this really lovely guy called Gus at work for the past few weeks... he's just been doing the odd casual day helping us out with a range of things in the art department, and of course being a casual contractor he ends up getting bossed about a bit and is given all the jobs no one else really wants to do like, you know, loading the truck all by himself at 6.00am in the morning and stuff.  But he is super nice and just does whatever needs doing, no problem.

ANYWAY.  This week, I learned a few new things about the very lovely Gus Leunig...

1) He is an amazing painter!

2) Michael Leunig (The cartoonist!) is his Dad!

There was a fair bit of squealing when I found that out this week, let me tell you!  Just goes to show you should always ask a LOT of questions when you meet someone new, to avoid missing some super important and/or impressive detail :)

ANYWAY Gus is having an amazing art exhibition this week at Libby Edwards Galleries in High st Armadale!  It opens TONIGHT which totally clashes with the launch of The Design Files Calendar but still I truly recommend checking it out at some point if not tonight!  It's up until December 5th, and the pieces are super affordable - which explains why 2 out of 5 are aready sold before the show even opens!

Love your work Gus!  Next time you have an art show opening I promise I will do my very best not be launching a calendar on the same night. :)
