Cecilia Fox Flowers - Pick Your Vase

Hello, I am Melanie from Cecilia Fox, a little flower studio tucked away in a corner of Brunswick.  At Cecilia Fox mostly we design and style flowers and all things organic.  So when I am not fashioning flowers for events or filling houses or restaurants or stores with beautiful blooms... I'm either at yoga or in my garden.  This week I want to give you a peek into my world of flowers and plants,  offering a little inspiration and some ideas about how to bring some nature into your life!

At this time of year my parsley is starting to flower and I love using it as a cut flower. It looks just beautiful and smells so fresh... how about that yellow teapot!

Now, a good basic glass vase is always useful, but why not put flowers in any old thing that will hold water?  I love with an old teapot overflowing with blooms, or a recycled olive oil tin brimming with olive branches!  Lucy King, fellow guest blogger, is all over it with her gorgeous plants in tea cups and recycled kitchenwares!   So the key is, if it holds water... even just a little bit... do it!!

The ladies at the top are my favorites at the moment, they're just having a little d & m. Love these amber bottles with Solomon's Seal.

Using seasonal flowers is so satisfying - I'm going crazy for Snowball Vibernum, Dogwood and the very underrated Solomon's Seal.  Not to forget herbs and succulents!   There are no rules, so get a little bit crazy - everyone is a florist just like everyone can sing and everyone can dance!

How about these beautiful vintage vases I bought on e-bay, love that swan and the Rathjen (that's a sumi ink club original on the wall).  And I have to admit - I bought this tea just so I could use the tins!

My boyfriend use to brew kombucha in these big jars till I got my hands on them!   I think the humble jam jar looks seriously cute down a table for a dinner party.
