The guest blog kicks off today with a look at The Australian Ballet's dyeing room! WOW look at those colours!

This week I am SO excited to introduce The Australian Ballet to Guest Blog!  Oooh la la!

The Australian Ballet have long been supporters of this little old blog.  They were one of The Design Files' very first sponsors, and have offered Design Files readers some very generous ticket giveaways over the past couple of years.  I've been lucky enough also to attend a couple of  breathtaking performances myself - AND I have even made twitter friends with one or two very gorgeous local ballerinas!  :)

The Australian Ballet has a particularly brilliant marketing department.  They are responsible for Behind Ballet, The Australian Ballet's fantastic blog - truly the best arts / culture blog in Melbourne, in my humble opinion!   They do SUCH a great job posting varied content each week, contributed by everyone in the company - from directors to designers to dancers.  SOOOO you can imagine my excitement when the Behind Ballet team agreed to spend a week guest blogging for The Design Files!

This week The Australian Ballet bring us 'Designing Dance' - a week of behind-the-scenes posts and beautiful photos from the design departments at The Australian Ballet.  We'll be treated to a tour of the Ballet's costumes & props storage warehouse in Kensington, a 100-year old woolstore exploding with treasures - we'll see the dyeing room, an impressive design library in the millinery department - and even the Ballet's extensive BUTTON collection, displayed along a full wall in the costume department! Amazinggg!

Don't forget to visit the Guest Blog all this week for Designing Dance - treasures from The Australian Ballet's design departments!  ...and a huge thanks to Kate Scott at the ballet for all her amazing work compiling a seriously beautiful week of posts for us!
