A slightly unusual Design Files inclusion today… I received a sweet email recently from a reader on the far north coast of NSW, letting me know about Darvall’s Modern Windsors – chairs and stools handcrafted by local woodworker Jake Darvall. Hand carved with painstaking attention to detail in Jake’s Kyogle workshop, they’re full of character, and seem almost gothic with those super-spindly legs and delicate hand carved details. In fact they look like they might just jump up and scuttle off all by themselves…. like something from Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, or a Tim Burton movie perhaps…?
